Soft Paws add-on to Classic Groom or Haircut

1 pair (two paws) – $25    2 pair (four paws) $35

An important thing to understand before considering any form of haircut for your cat is:

NOT ALL CATS ARE CANDIDATES FOR A “HAIRCUT”

For safety and efficiency, we never use scissors on a cat’s coat. Instead, electric clippers are used. Some cats are very accepting of being clipped. Others are extremely clipper averse. In addition, older and thin cats require careful consideration before considering clipping. Cat skin is very thin & fragile, and the older & more slender the cat, the less full body clipping is a reasonable or safe service to even consider doing.

We have the ability to perform many services when grooming cats, but what will be done will be dictated by your cat’s ability to tolerate the service. We always aim to be efficient so the process goes as quickly as is safe & reasonable, but in the end, we must monitor your cat for stress and act according to his or her best interests.

Soft Paws add-on to Haircut

1 pair (two paws) – $25    2 pair (four paws) $35

LION CUT

Includes everything in the Classic Groom, plus a body clip that takes the coat to a very short length, while leaving regular coat length on the head, desired degree of “ruff” around the neck, and “boots” on the legs. Tail can be left full, or be shaved to leave a pom pom at the tip. Lion Cut Groom starts at $150

Lion Cut

COMB CUT or “TEDDY BEAR” CUT

Includes everything in the Classic Groom, plus a haircut that leaves approximately ½” to ¾” of hair. Tail can be left full or trimmed into a pom pom style.

This body clip is the same shape as the Lion Cut above, but uses a comb attachment on the clipper that leaves a longer length of hair. In the end, the coat appears more like a teddy bear or chenille blanket. We can show you examples of coat length choices with a synthetic hair sample board.

This type of clip is preferable for older, thin or more particular cats who are not good candidates for the shorter Lion Cut trim. Comb Cut/Teddy Bear Cut Groom starts at $140

HAIRCUT VARIATIONS

Both the Lion Cut & the Comb Cut can have variations on how much of the body is shaved.  For example, hair can be left on the body to resemble a short jacket length (“Bolero”), a slightly longer jacket length (“Sweater”) or just the hind end area can be clipped (“No Pants”). Different degrees of mane can be left on the neck as well.

MATS, CLUMPS, KNOTS & TANGLES

IMPORTANT NOTE: Prices quoted above are based on the cat having minimal or no matting, clumps, knots or tangles. Matted cats will be quoted additional fees based on severity, due to extra time required to safely remove them. A more accurate price quote will be provided at the time of service, after we can assess the cat’s condition in person. *Please see “What are mats & pelts” in the FAQ section for more information.

Cats with certain medical or stress-related conditions may be referred to a veterinarian for a sedated groom for your cat’s safety.

For cats requiring a Lion Cut for severe mat removal—called a “Pelted Shave”, the initial appointment starts at $295 and includes a complimentary follow-up Classic Groom within 8 weeks.  This follow-up groom is to help promote healthy hair growth, trim nails and discuss future grooming schedule and service recommendations that will prevent the cat from having to go through such an extensive service in the future. Our goal is to keep your cat in the best shape possible, to keep them as comfortable as possible so that your cat NEVER has to go through this again.

Great for coats of all lengths. Service includes, nails, eyes & ears, and a thorough comb-out. Ideal for clients needing supplemental maintenance support between grooms. Only available to regularly scheduled clients. $80

Cat nails DO require human intervention to keep them from having painful ingrown nails. This is the case for outdoor cats too! Trimming nails does not take away their “weapons” or limit their ability to climb trees etc, it just makes them less extreme & “needle-like”. That makes their time in the house & with you less of a “prickly” situation, & reduces the likelihood they will get painful ingrown nails.

Scratching posts do NOT shorten cat nails. They exist to satisfy a cat’s need to scratch, and they help the nails shed their outer layers. Without nail trimming, this simply results in the nail being more sharpened.

Included in all Classic Grooms & Haircut Grooms, otherwise $45 ($25 for additional cats). Nail Trims with Soft Paws application $15 (see next tab for Soft Paws prices)

Kittens, Guinea pigs or rabbits $35.

Developed by a veterinarian, Soft Paws nail caps are made of non-toxic vinyl. They are applied to your cat’s claws using a non-toxic, veterinary grade adhesive, and are a completely safe & humane solution to cat scratching problems. They do not interfere with the normal extension & retraction of the claws, and most cats don’t even know they are wearing them.

In covering the nail, it helps protect furniture & people from scratches/damage. This is the humane alternative to the very painful practice of surgical de-clawing. It can be helpful if you have family members who are infants or seniors with sensitive skin, who are immunocompromised or on blood thinners, to protect from possible scratching. They can also be used to protect the cat from their own nails e.g. cats with allergies can often cause themselves damage from scratching their face & ears with their hind paws.

Nail caps generally last as long as a nail trim (4-6 weeks), but will grow out with the nail itself, and will require replacement. Many colour & even glitter choices are available. You can match the season, your favourite sports team, or whatever tickles your fancy! There is also a clear option for those that prefer a more subtle look.

A la Carte: Two paws – $35, four paws – $45. Nail trim with application (if required) $15

Add-on to Classic Grooms or Haircuts: Two paws – $25, four paws – $35 (nail trim included)

Especially if full feline grooming is new to you, we can come to you to do “Just a Nail Trim”, at which time we can meet & check out your cat’s body condition, what their coat is like, and discuss issues you might be experiencing that we could help you with. We are in the solutions business after all!

Dandruff, shedding, hairballs, scratched furniture or people (or even the cat scratching itself!), human allergies, smelly fur, dirty bottoms, messy necks after eating or drinking, litter tracking around the house etc. We have solutions for all of these common problems. We’ll make recommendations to you on how to go forward to improve your situation.  $65

We clip around the anus/genitals & under the top of the tail to keep things tidy back there. Poor upkeep of this area can lead to skin irritations, urinary tract infections & even death in more extreme situations where mats in this area don’t allow the cat to properly urinate & defecate. This is an included option in all Classic Grooms. As a service outside of a Classic Groom    $10.

For cats who have longer hair or who are messier in the litter box, the full sanitary trim takes the mini sanitary a bit further to include the inner back thighs & the lower rear belly. This is an included option in all Classic Grooms. As a service outside of a Classic Groom $15.

For cats that tend to get tangled on their bellies and armpits, the full underbelly is clipped between the front leg armpits & the groin $25.

Full Belly Trim & Sanitary Trim together is $30.

Similar to the Full Belly Trim, but just the bottom half of the belly is shaved $20. Half Belly Trim & Sanitary Trim together is $25.

For cats with longer ruffs around their necks that get messy from eating & drinking, we can shorten the ruff to help prevent messy necks & mats that can come from it. $10.

For cats with longer hair on their hind legs/bottom, that can get messy in the litterbox etc, we can shorten the pantaloon area to help. $10

For cats who track litter around the house, slip & slide on hard floors, or if their toe hair is just getting long & messy, we can clip the excess toe hair on the bottom & sides of the foot. $10

Waiting Fees

If you are not ready for your appointment when we arrive, after 15 minutes, a fee of +$30 is charged. If we wait 25 minutes, the appointment is considered the same as a “NO SHOW”. The appointment will be cancelled and you will be charged the price of the service you booked for.
